              William Moran O’Connor was born in Brigden, Ontario on 14 September 1898.  While living in Brigden as a farmer, he was conscripted by the Canadian Expeditionary Force on 30 May 1918 in London, Ontario.  His service began with the 1st Depot Battalion, Western Ontario Regiment as a Private.


              In July of 1918, Private O’Connor departed Canada for England, arriving in mid-August.  Upon arrival, he was reassigned to the 4th Reserve Battalion in Witley, UK.  With the Armistice declared on 11 November 1918, Private O’Connor remained in England until August 1919.


              William Moran O’Connor returned to Canada, and was discharged due to demobilization on 24 August 1919, intending to return to Sarnia, Ontario.
