George Henry Regan was born in Brigden, Ontario on 27 September 1888 to John and Sarah Regan.  On 18 January 1916, leaving his job as a shipper, George enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Brigden.  His enlistment was witnessed by Fred Raper, also noted in these biographies.  Regan began his service with the 149th Overseas Battalion (The Lambtons) as a Private.

Private Regan departed from Nova Scotia on 25 March 1917, arriving in England on 7 April.  From there, he was assigned to the 25th Reserve Battalion, and posted to the 161st Battalion on 1 June 1917.  In early 1918, Private Regan was awarded the Good Conduct badge while waiting in reserve in Whitley, UK.

In March of 1918, Private Regan deployed to the field, and over the next several months spent time with both the 5th Canadian Battalion and 47th Battalion.  On 29 September 1918, George Regan was shot in the back while in the field with the 47th Battalion.  He returned to England for medical treatment, spending time in the Norfolk War Hospital in Norwich, and later in the Military Convalescent Hospital in Woodcote Park, Epsom.  With the Armistice declared a month before, Private Regan was discharged from the hospital on 4 December 1918.

Private Regan was posted to Kinmel Park Camp in December.  Canadian Soldiers were posted to Kinmel Park pending their return to Canada.  By the end of January 1919, Private Regan was bound for Canada aboard the S.S. Olympic.

Upon his return to Canada, Private Regan was posted to the Casualty Company until the time of his discharge on 7 February 1919.  According to his file, he intended to return to Brigden after he was discharged.

George Henry Regan passed away on 13 May 1970 at the Westminster Hospital in London, Ontario at the age of 81.
