Charles Robert Young was born on 12 November 1896 in Moore Township, Ontario to John Young.  While living as a farmer in Brigden, Ontario, he was conscripted into the Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF) on 18 June 1918 at London, Ontario.  He began as a Private with the 1st Depot Battalion, Western Ontario Regiment.


On 25 July 1918, Private Young was discharged from the CEF, but intended to enlist with the Royal Air Force (RAF) in Toronto.


Charles Robert Young passed away in 1987 and is buried in Bear Creek Cemetery in Brigden, Ontario.
