Albert Edward Pulford was born on 28 June 1880 in Liverpool, England.  While working as a soap factory mechanic, he enlisted with the Canadian Expeditionary Force on 27 September 1915 in Brigden, Ontario.  He started out as a Private with the 70th Battalion.

Private Pulford arrived in England on 5 May 1916 aboard the S.S. Lapland.  He was posted to the 58th Battalion and deployed to the Field in June 1916.  Over the next year, he was repeatedly admitted to the hospital for a variety of concerns, including inflammation and sprains among others.  He was awarded a good conduct badge in December 1917.

In October 1918, Private Pulford was posted back to Witley, England with the 2nd Central Ontario Regiment Depot.  He returned to Canada aboard the HMT Aquitania, and arrived in Halifax on 24 January 1919.  From there, he moved to Toronto and was discharged from the Canadian Expeditionary Force on 25 February 1919.

Private Pulford re-enlisted on 9 April 1919 at Toronto, though it is unclear why.  He was discharged again from the Canadian Expeditionary Force on 31 August 1919, about 5 months later.  He was released in Toronto, where he intended to live after the war.

Albert Edward Pulford passed away on 15 October 1952.  He is buried in Woodland Cemetery in Hamilton, Ontario.
